Friday July 23rd, 2010.
I left Japan for Encinitas in America. I was selected as an exchange student between Amakusa and Encinitas. It was my first trip overseas.
When I arrived in Encinitas, I was very nervous. But, I worried too much. My host family was very kind. They greeted me warmly. My host family’s daughter’s name was Emily. She always took me to interesting places. We went to the San Diego zoo, hiking, kayaking and many other places.
My most unforgettable experience was the evening of the 26th. I went to Emily’s friend’s house with another exchange student from Amakusa. The house had a trampoline. We jumped on it until we were tired. After we sprawled out on it. While looking at the night sky, we talked with our American friends about love. I never talked about love in America. I’ll never forget it!
Time really flew during my trip. Finally on the last day of my visit to America. There was a farewell party. I made a speech. I was very very sad. Emily and I hugged. We said ‘Thank you’ and left.
I made many American friends. I’ve never been this happy. I want to go to America again as soon as possible.
